#3 Hounds Crush #7 Lindenwood in the final home game of the regular season

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis University women’s lacrosse team wanted revenge on the Lindenwood Lions, and they got it. Scoring their biggest victory against the Lions in UIndy history, the Hounds won the Top 10 16-9 by defeating the No. 7 ranked team.

Peyton Romig would show why she will go down in Division II Lacrosse history with five goals, two assists and 14 Hounds lead draw checks. The five-goal match tied her career high she set against Findlay in March 21′.


The game started close, with the Hounds scoring two on the spot and being chased with two goals from Lindenwood. The Greyhounds began to extend their lead bit by bit until a five-goal run to end the third quarter and kick off the fourth put them out of reach.

Chants from the stands called out every team, but it was the Greyhounds who prevailed.

Abigail Lagos would be the one to cap the game for UIndy with an unassisted flare just over the three-minute mark.

Sarah Klein would also carry the Hounds offense with four goals, while Lagos had three goals and two assists.

defensively, Kara Antonucci forced two turnovers, picked up six draw checks and added a ground ball.

While King Cassidy wrapped up the Greyhounds’ win in the net with five saves in the second half, adding to by Audrey Moran four saves in the first half.


-The Greyhounds took 37 shots to Lindenwood’s 21.
-UIndy held the Lions to just 16 of 20 clear attempts, while the Hounds completed 100% of theirs.
-Both teams took five shots from the free position and picked up 11 balls from the ground.
-The Hounds controlled the circle taking 22 draw checks, while LU had five.


The Greyhounds will travel to McKendree for their final regular season game of the 2022 campaign. The clock starts at 1 p.m. ET.
