HISTORY®’s popular non-fiction survival series “Alone” returns for season eight on Thursday, June 3 at 9:30 p.m. ET / PT. This season, ten competitors FIGHT TO SURVIVE in the Canadian wilderness on the shores of Chilko Lake, British Columbia – a place that is home to one of the densest grizzly bear populations in the world. Survivors are dropped off in isolated, undisclosed locations and equipped with just ten survival tools and enough photo equipment to self-document their experiences. The longest-lasting survivor, facing total isolation, harsh weather conditions and deadly predators, will win the grand prize of $ 500,000. No film crew. No gadgets. “Alone” is the ultimate test of human will.
“‘Alone’ has always been a hit series for The HISTORY Channel, but last year it particularly touched audiences more than ever, as we have seen survivors endure total isolation thanks to their ingenuity and mental will. “said Eli Lehrer, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming for The HISTORY Channel. “This new season will continue to authentically showcase the courage of human endurance and challenge viewers to look at the outdoors – and their own backyards – a little differently.”
Season eight of “Alone” places the stakes higher than ever in the most dangerous place yet. Survivors must build their own shelters, seek their own food, and overcome many obstacles and dangerous predators in the hopes of being the last person standing. Never before have competitors been in such frequent contact with the Fierce and Territorial Grizzly Bear, until now.
“Alone” is produced for The HISTORY® Channel by Leftfield Pictures (an ITV America Company). Shawn Witt, Gretchen Palek, Ryan Pender and Dan Bree are the executive producers of Leftfield Pictures. Zachary Behr is executive producer of The HISTORY® Channel.
A + E Networks owns the worldwide distribution rights for both the series and the “Alone” format.
