Niskayuna High grad featured on History Channel’s “Pawn Stars”

A graduate of Niskayuna High School and Las Vegas showgirl, Danielle Flahive got more than she bargained for in the last episode of “Pawn Stars.”

Flahive appeared on the History Channel show in hopes of selling a costume his father had worn for years, one he said was worn by Billy Gibbons of legendary rock band ZZ Top.

The bright red-orange costume, with embroidered cacti and rhinestones, was designed by Nuta Kotlyarenko (known professionally as Nudie Cohn), who also made costumes for John Wayne and Cher. It came with the original tag inside.

Flahive initially asked for $ 25,000, but the hosts brought in Gibbons, who confirmed that he lost that same costume on his trip in 1974. He told Elizabeth that a costume like this could worth double its asking price.

“I changed my offer,” Flahive immediately told the host.

Gibbons, who said he didn’t want the jumpsuit coming out the door, joined “Pawn Stars” host Rick Harrison as each claimed half the purchase price of 40,000. $ of the combination. They plan to donate it to Antone’s, a blues hall in Austin, Texas.

Flahive grew up dancing at Schenectady’s Ramsey School of Ballet and Ballet North, the school’s ballet company. She then studied advertising and marketing at SUNY Cortland, while continuing to dance, eventually landing a spot on “Jubilee!” at Bally’s Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, where she performed until the end of the show in 2016.
